FUMC Marble Falls
Earlier this week, Nene and I had an opportunity to hear a bit of Kim Russell’s 4th day talk and I can’t even
begin to tell you what a true blessing will be granted to those of you who are able to join us next Monday.
If you are like me, every Emmaus event is a blessing. No matter what’s happening in my life at the time, just
being around Emmaus folks makes everything better. Monday’s gathering will be a blessing - I hope to see you there.

What is Kairos?
Kairos is a world-wide, ecumenical, volunteer ministry to prisoners that brings to life the love of Christ through his body of believers. The ministry is conducted by 3 groups of people, - the inside, outside and the body of Christ in homes and churches around the state and world.
Kairos starts with a 4-day period when 42 inmates (residents) come “heart to heart” with the love and forgiveness of Christ. The inside team spends those four days inside the prison singing, laughing, praying, crying, listening to and loving the residents. The outside team prepares real, home-cooked meals for the participants and spends time praying for their resident prayer partners.
Finally the reality of the body of Christ is brought to life by the realization that people are praying for and making sacrifices for those 42 residents.
Through financial support and gifts of thousands of dozens of homemade cookies and handwritten letters that express the love of Christ, residents find, perhaps for the first time in their lives, the meaning of Christ’s gift — love all persons through our unselfish acts for others. Your gifts carry a very powerful and very real message of love and hope in a new way of life!
In a very short time, hardened shells begin to soften and fall and a child of God emerges!
There’s a long road ahead, but many residents have a new life, like a butterfly, because of the love of Christ expressed through His people.
