Goals and Objectives


2 year olds

Spiritual Development:
- Shows love for God
- Knows what a prayer is
- Is thoughtful of others
-Children will learn to worship God through music, song, praise and prayer in the classroom and in Chapel.

Physical Development: (Gross and Fine Motor Skills)
-A variety of activities are planned to encourage children to move. This is done through running, playing with balls, jumping, music and many other indoor/outdoor activities.
-We work on the development of fine motor skills through several activities including, tearing paper, gluing, painting, stringing beads and many others.
-Children will learn to demonstrate self help skills such as feeding and hand washing.
 
Social Development:
-We encourage our children to gain independence through self-motivation skills with positive reinforcement that will also help build their self-esteem.
-Small Group/Large Group activities- We foster settings that will help children learn to interact with their peers that will help them learn to develop relationships with their peers. This is done through music and movement, PE, games, story time, show and tell and circle time.
-We use positive reinforcement and encourage positive classroom habits.
-Children thrive on stability and routine. We follow the same schedule every school day.

Intellectual Development:
-We encourage speech in language development through storytelling, show and tell and many other activities.
-We explore colors, shapes, books, games, art, texture, puzzles and many more activities!
-We plan centers that encourage dramatic play and have music and movement time in the classroom.
Creative Development:
-Children will develop their creativity through paint, play dough, crayons, glue and paper.
-Children will develop their self expression through dramatic play in centers.
-Children will participate in music and movement activities.
--Children will engage in art activities that incorporate all 5 senses

3 year olds
Spiritual Development:
- Children show love for God and know who Jesus is.
-Children know what the Bible is.
-Children learn what prayer is.
-Children will learn to worship God through music, song, praise and prayer in the classroom and in Chapel.

Physical Development: (Gross and Fine Motor Skills)
-We encourage the development of gross motor skills through indoor and outdoor activities such as running, jumping, hopping, playing with balls, walking on a small beam and much more.
-We work on the development of fine motor skills through activities that help children manipulate objects such as: scissors, glue, pinching objects with tweezers, stringing beads, making marks with a crayon, buttoning, and zipping.
 
Social Development:
-Children will learn to adapt to new situations and follow classroom routines.
-Children will learn to control their feelings and ask for help.
- Children will learn to take turns and share.
-Children will participate in group activities.

Intellectual Development:
-Children will learn to demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Children will learn to sort and classify shapes, colors and sizes of objects.
-We will begin to use simple measurement and comparative words such as big/little, up/down, left/right, same/different etc…
-Children will begin to understand order, patterns and sequence.
- Children will begin to understand rhyming words.
-Children can communicate with complete sentences and be able to answer open ended questions with a complete thought.
-Children will recognize a few letters and numbers by name.
-Children can hear and understand sounds of the English language.
-Children will demonstrate an understanding that print carries meaning.
- Children will know the basic colors and count to 10.
-Children will learn cause and effect.
Creative Development:
-Children will develop their creativity through paint, play dough, crayons, glue and paper.
-Children will develop their self expression through dramatic play in centers.
-Children will participate in music and movement activities—
Children will engage in art activities that incorporate all 5 senses.
 
Pre-K
Spiritual Development:
- Children show love for God and know who Jesus is.
-Children know what the Bible is.
-Children learn what prayer is.
-Children will learn to worship God through music, song, praise and prayer in the classroom and in Chapel.

Physical Development: (Gross and Fine Motor Skills)
-We encourage the development of gross motor skills through indoor and outdoor activities such as running, jumping, hopping, playing with balls, playing catch, walking backwards, skipping, walking on a beam and much more.
-We work on the development of fine motor skills through activities that help children manipulate objects such as: cutting on a line, gluing, pinching objects with tweezers, stringing beads, copying a line, drawing basic shapes, gripping pencils correctly, buttoning, and zipping.


Social Development:
-Children will learn to take turns and respect others.
-Children will participate in group activities both large and small.
-Children will listen and respect authority.
-Children will learn to control their feelings and ask for help.




Intellectual Development:
-Children will be able to recognize and write their first and last name.
-Children will begin to recognize the names of their classmates.
-Children can communicate with complete sentences and be able to answer open ended questions with a complete thought.
-Children will know their phone number, first and last name.
-Children will recognize letters of the alphabet and understand the sound that each letter makes.
-Children will demonstrate an understanding that print carries meaning.
- Children will understand rhyming words and be introduced to basic sight words.
-Children will learn to demonstrate problem solving skills.
-We will use measurement and comparative words such as big/little, up/down, left/right, same/different etc…
- Children will learn to sort and classify shapes, colors and sizes of objects.
-Children will begin to understand order, patterns and sequence.
-Children will learn cause and effect.
-Children will count objects to 30 and demonstrate number recognition to 10.

Creative Development:
-Children will engage in art activities that incorporate all 5 senses.
-Children will develop their self expression through dramatic play, storytelling, and show and tell.
-Children will participate in music and movement activities.
